To clarify: I don't believe that someone putting artwork from here in their photobucket account is theft. It bothers me when I see people complaining about 'ripping' when all that's happened is that artwork has been stored there so they can look at the pretties. If you're worried that someone is going to make money from your artwork, stick a watermark on it - Only the superkeen are going to buy it with a deviantart watermark across it.

I've come across my artwork in different places - bebo, facebook, youtube, photobucket... Know what I feel? Proud. Why? Because someone liked my work enough to want to look at it frequently. *shrug* That's just me, I guess.

That doesn't for a minute mean that I wish to cause insult to anyone for not wanting to share their work. Everyone feels differently about their artwork. I DO however, feel that we live in rather a sad world if we can't share artwork around... Where would the greatest artists of our world be if their work stayed only in one place?

One of my favourite things to do online is to share artwork on my journal. Because I assume that if you watch me, there's a high possibility that you might like what I like and might not have SEEN the images that I just ADORE. There's that word again though - share. What's the difference between SHARING an image here on my journal and SHARING one on facebook etc.? How long before someone is threatening to sue me for putting their image in my journal and giving them a little more exposure?

Of course, while I am all for the share option, that's MY choice. dA appears to have gotten rather complacent. If people don't want to share their work, that should be their choice. Yes, people will always find a way to take artwork, with or without this option but, it shouldn't be up to dA.
